Writers Tears is a light, sweet Irish whiskey made using a mix of single pot still and single malt whiskeys, resulting in oodles of honeyed, fruity notes. Wonderfully easy to drink, it would make for a great introduction to Irish whiskey for folks new to the spirit. (No writers were harmed in the making of this whiskey.)
Soft and sweet with thick honey spread on granary toast. Hints of citrus peels.
Honey develops on the palate. Mellow notes of vanilla and golden malt. Green apple skin, caramel and a hint of oak.
Warming, sweet and long.
Very yummy Irish whiskey indeed.
£5.38 - £45.90
Nose - sweet vanilla scent, biscuits Palate - vanilla, fruit, could benefit from higher ABV% Finish - nice, long and aromatic
This is warm gentle stuff. Notes of honey, caramel, green apple, wood. Very good.
Nice but tame. A plain vanilla whiskey.
This is a solid Irish whiskey. There are obviously better but for the price point this single copper pot traditional Irish can’t be beat. Pretty confused with some of the other reviews. Why would you compare this Irish whiskey with Johnnie Walker which is a scotch whiskey? They aren’t supposed to taste the same, they’re completely different styles of whiskey. Writer’s Tears is definitely a solid, true to taste, Irish Whiskey
Just opened the Xmas whisky santa free gift miniature. This is a pleasant very smooth sipping whisky. Butter candy, vanilla notes with mashed banana and biscotti flavours. Will be interesting to try the different variants, but definitely worth buying bottle of this.
