We've got the second batch of That Boutique-y Whisky Company's independently bottled single malt from the Teerenpeli Distillery right here folks! Stupendous Finnish single malt whisky, aged in a recoopered American ex-bourbon hogshead, which was left to slumber in a shipping container for three years – yes, Teerenpeli uses shipping containers for its maturation, which leads to some big changes in temperature throughout the year.
Batch 2 is a release of 494 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Soft whiffs of peat, with citrus and leafy herbs mellowing the smoke.
Juicy pineapple and more grapefruit, now paired with layers of toffee and wood smoke.
Hints of vanilla and Sichuan pepper last.
Completely agreeing with 5th of Dec 2022 reviewer. I loved this one at first go and saved half for a non-scotch blind face-off. Winner over the French, Bavarian and others. Fruit madness
I honestly don’t understand the 1/2- star review I just read. This is a nice clean smack-you-in-the-mouth dram. Yes, it’s young, and the first sniff scorched a few nose hairs, but it’s a nice uncomplicated scotch with a spicy tongue hit and a long smooth finish.
Had a 3cl bottle of this in an advent calendar. While I admit I'm no whiskey expert I have had my fair share of whiskies over the years. This has a very heavy smell of rubber on the nose and a very chemical like taste that reminds me of the smell on a brand new pair of shoes. I don't mix my scotches with coke but I sure did this one and even than it doesn't help.
