Two epic spirits collide in magnificent fashion right here in a rather exciting collaboration between Ireland's Teeling Distillery and Plantation Rum! The folks at Teeling have taken its Small Batch blended Irish whiskey, initially matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Central American rum casks, and treated it to a further 12 month maturation in casks that previously contained the mouthwatering Plantation Pineapple Stiggins' Fancy rum. The glorious notes of charred pineapple and honeyed sweetness harmonise with the silky whiskey beautifully, making this a uniquely tropical, and tremendously sippable expression.
Fruity right away with crushed pineapple and a touch of citrus leading to floral vanilla and syrupy sponge cake.
Meaty malt and creamy grain mingle, bringing sweet vanilla, fresh stone fruits, and a hint of herbal grist, before earthy charred oak and tangy caramelised pineapples join.
Bittersweet citrus kicks in towards the finish, tangling with prickles of cracked pepper and aromatic oak. Burnt sugar, juicy pineapple, and earthen vanilla pod linger amongst the spice.

This is a lovely smooth Whiskey from Teeling. You get just a hint of pineapple, so it's not too overpowering. And, then, you get the warmth and a pepperiness, after swallowing, like you get when drinking Rum, the warmth in the back of your throat. But, this is definitely a Whiskey, it doesn't taste like Rum, and it is silky smooth..... Lovely.
I’m not a big whisky man, more of a rum drinker. This however crosses the divide and is just beautiful. Nothing added, just ice. A velvety smooth whisky to savour! I’ll buy this again!
Kept eyeing this up as something that looked different and interesting. There's a lot of good whisky around at £45. The spirit is sharp, the pineapple rum influence sits underneath the heat of the spirit and feels like it's there to mask poorly blended spirit. No complexity, there's sweetness and heat, pineapple, and nothing else. It works well as a mixer and nothing more which is a real shame. A drop of water tames the heat but just exposes it's lack of flavours.
This exceeded my expectations. A truly fantastic whisky which I'll definitely be purchasing again soon.
Completely unique. Nose of Amaretti, toasted almonds. Full-on medjool dates, sultanas, pears, caramel & background spices of cinnamon and a faint touch of oak. Like no whisky I've ever tasted. A Bargain and a true one off.
