Back for a sixth batch, it's the glorious Starward Projects Ginger Beer Cask! What initially began as an experimental project has now become a beloved batched edition. This expression was matured in Apera fortified wine and red wine barrels, before being transferred to casks that previously held Starward's own brewed ginger beer, where it was allowed to mingle with the warming spice until bottling in 2021.
Bright and zesty notes of candied orange, dipped in dark chocolate. Plenty of fiery ginger.
Ginger packs some heat with warming spice balanced by bold vanilla and juicy notes of tropical fruit.
Crystalised ginger, dried orange peels, wafts of sticky toffee pudding follow toasty oak and gently prickling heat.

I tried the Statward Left Field and blew me away by how quaffable it is, so thought I should give this ago and it doesn't disappoint. Sweet and rich from the wine cask than a delicious ginger spice hit. Absolutely sublime with no alcohol burn.
Starward Ginger beer cask #6 is a whisky at the top of the tree. Great Aussie whisky. Dominated by orange peel and spicy ginger. A pleasure to savour. Rivals the best similar priced scotch, and I'm not saying that lightly. I'm into the #7 next.
