A heavily peated Islay single malt from Ian Macleod, Smokehead Extra Rare is a travel retail exclusive, and offer tons of flavour…
Sherry and malt, thick plumes of cool maritime smoke, barley, tar and old ropes on the beach.
Big, spicy peat - warm slabs of the stuff. Thick smoke, coal tar and iodine, a little honey, lemon zest and sticking plasters.
Long and smoky with toffee brittle and tangy fruits.
I love Smokehead but this one really disappointed me. You get the heavy smokeyness for sure, but the additional flavours are really awkward. Try the High-Voltage instead.
I left it a good review before but honestly, it isn’t such a good whisky. It leaves a weird taste in the mouth, dunno what’s on the nose, water makes it worse. Better off with the original smokehead which was breathtaking
Nice nose, aromas as mentioned by mom, bit harsh on my tongue but very nice. Prefer the normal smoke head but definitely worth it
As mentioned this is very Ardbeg like. It's softer and warmer and less medicinal. Very good but if you are looking for a hardcore tcp Ardbeg hit do not deviate from Ardbeg 10
Can't wait to taste this one, I really liked the rock edition!
