Impressive
I’m really pleased with this whisky. I can’t fault it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of depth and flavour and quality with a massive maritime finesse.

An excellent Island malt blend
My first Douglas Laing and I’m very impressed. The bottle art is beautiful, a shimmering oyster pearl in dark blues and gold design. Old-fashioned and regal but in a good way.
The drink itself: it's an impressive assortment of disparate malts from Orkney, Arran, Islay and Jura. You can pretty much guess the components from that composition due to the limited options on 3 of those Scottish Islands. It would, however, have been nice if we were given the same full disclosure as Compass Box provide.

The nose is briney, citrus and a touch of peat. The taste has the brine and citrus plus a bit of engine oil/tar (probably the Islay and I’m going to guess its either Caol Ila or Bowmore). There is the merest whiff of sherry influence which could be the Highland Park malt breaking through.

Its 46%, unchill-filtered and I’m sure natural colour too. All bonus points there.

This would definitely appeal to fans of Talisker and Old Pulteney

Marvellous
What a marvellous bottling from
Douglas Laing - delivers a real ocean, maritime character with a nice underlying sweetness.
