Powers Gold Label is a classic Irish whiskey, introduced in 1791 by John Power & Son. Once a single pot still whiskey, it's long since been a blend of pot still and grain whiskeys. Powers have reintroduced single pot still Irish whiskey to their range, however, with their John's Lane Release.
Super sweet shortbread notes, with honeysuckle and tangerine peel.
Buttery shortbread, cereal, pears and a little milk chocolate.
Short and mouthwatering, the spices shine through in waves with honey lingering to the end.

Powers Gold Label has a bad reputation in Ireland of being only good for hot toddys and it's an unfair reputation, it's an amazing Irish potstill blend, nose has loads to toffee caramel think Cadburys caramel, some honey as well and the pot still gives it a creaminess and loads off toffee caramel honey taste and plenty of spice. Incredible value for money!
Irish people keep this in the drinks cabinet to give to visitors they don't like or put it in hot whiskey as you only use cheap whiskey in it.
This was the first whiskey I ever tried. My mother had some left over after using this in a Christmas cake that we made and I finished the rest of the bottle :) It's a little spicy, well rounded, so balanced and smooth that it's like sipping a fine, expensive coffee. I would recommend this to anyone! Even if you don't like whiskey, try this and you can't deny how easy sipping this is!
