Kamet Single Malt
Former Amrut whisky maker Surrinder Kumar, who spent three decades helping to grow the Indian whisky category, made this Indian single in custom copper pot stills before maturing it in a combination of bourbon American oak, ex-wine French oak, and ex-sherry casks.
The name derives from Mount Kamet, India’s third-highest peak, and it is distilled near Kurukshetra in Haryana. An important part of the culture there is the parrot, known in popular folklore as a messenger or a fortune teller, which is why it has pride of place on the label.
