The Beast of Dufftown has escaped from cask #13298 and been bottled by Hunter Laing for the Old Malt Cask range! Yes, this is another yummy indie bottling of single malt from the Mortlach distillery, aged in a refill hogshead for 12 years, from January 2005 to February 2017. 315 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Stewed fruits dusted with ground cinnamon and nutmeg. A touch of floral malt.
Palate
Sugared almonds and ripe plums. Meaty oak.
Finish
Thick honey and charred oak.
