Moon Harbour Distillery in Bordeaux takes advantage of the region's wine-making pedigree, maturing its whiskies in casks from some of the most celebrated producers. This single malt French whisky has been made with barley grown in the Aquitaine region. The whisky was pot still distilled, and matured in sauternes barrels before finishing in barrels from winemaker, Château Rieussec. It's then bottled without chill filtration of added colour.
Some floral character from the wine barrels, with cinnamon, ginger, and candied orange peel.
Fresh stone fruits alongside vanilla, toasted almonds, brown sugar, and some peppery spice.
Warm oak with a lingering fruitiness.
