Signatory have bottled up another brill single malt Scotch whisky here, this time from the Macduff Distillery up in the Highland region. It was distilled in November 2006, and allowed to slumber for 14 years in a pair of bourbon barrels, before eventually being bottled up in March 2021.
Nutmeg and five-spice, balanced by sweet strawberry and rich toffee.
Floral malt leads the way, with honeyed cereal, almond pastries, and a smidge of anise.
Vanilla custard, white grapes, and another touch of nutmeg spiciness.
Quirky and interesting rather than brilliant. Nicely sweet. Well worth the price of admission to sip gently.
