Linkwood 19 Year Old 1997 (cask 13269) - Old Malt Cask (Hunter Laing)
An Old Malt Cask bottling of 19 year old single malt from Speyside's lovely Linkwood distillery, aged in a single refill hogshead cask. Back in June 1997, cask #13269 was filled and set aside to mature for nearly two decades, until Hunter Laing came along in January 2017 and bottled the whisky with an outturn of 303 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Stewed apples and blackcurrants, a heaped teaspoon of brown sugar, cinnamon biscuits.
Palate
Quite zesty on the palate, with lemon and pineapple. Slightly toasted barley gives it a savoury edge.
Finish
Earthy oak and golden syrup sweetness.
