Journey is the entry level expression from the Isle of Jura range (which was relaunched in mid-2018). It was aged exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV. A tasty introduction to Jura's single malts.
Melted butter, sugared almond, a very light hint of smoke.
Honeyed-drenched pear, toffee and pencil shavings.
Oily walnut and light apricot sweetness.

Takes me back 30 years to when I first tasted Jura when it wasn’t a fashionable whisky. Journey tastes very much like the bottling from 30 years ago which was my introduction to decent malt whisky. Entry level it may be but it noses well and is good quality, unpretentious easy drinking malt whisky.
I honestly don't know what all the bad reviews are all about? I'm getting this from the Coop for £22 a bottle and think that represents excellent value. It's in no way harsh or rough.
Lots of negative reviews here. Not especially pronounced in flavour, and fairly understated on the palate, but still enjoyable and smooth. Notes of smoke on the nose, and toffee and sweetness on the palate, with a medium finish. Very enjoyable.
Rough. Assumed it would be quality as it's jura, but definitely not. Tastes cheap and leaves a headache.
Harsh ... avoid
