Harmony - a rather apt word to describe this well-balanced Japanese blended whisky from the Hibiki range. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is made with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from five different types of cask, including American white oak casks, sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. An elegant expression, with wafts of honey, orange, a herbaceous touch or two, and light oak.
Red berries, green apple and layers of rich honey.
Melted butter and caramelised dates. A hint of fragrant sandalwood develops into warming, oaky spice.
Brown sugar, citrus peels, white grape, and black pepper.
I love most things Japanese. Now I can include their whiskey. This is really nice.
This is my favourite "everyday" blended whisky. It's smooth with toffee notes and gentle on the alcohol. Not complex to my taste. Noticed a comment hinting to medical/technical spirits and I get that opinion too. But it's not an issue to me, just a result of the light blend.
The best whisky I've ever had. I've tasted a lot of whisky since I fell in love with it at the teeling distillery tour but this is my all time favourite so far.
I was scared in case i didn’t like it as it was a gift but i absolutely loved it and would buy this on repeat
I did have this bottle before, nice presentation bottle and very smooth initial palate, however the finish was really disappointing as it did taste like bare medical spirit.
