Distilled at Glen Keith (not Strathisla as originally believed) on 4th April 1973, Craigduff was an experimental peated malt. Matured for a staggering 40 years in a refill sherry butt, this release was bottled by Signatory on its birthday in 2013 with an outturn of 616.
Nose: Woody peat and red apples come through, creamy acacia honey, ginger.
Palate: Caramelised apples catching, heather beeswax and hints of clove.
Finish: Savoury smoked barley.
Overall: Intriguing and delicious.
