A brand that dates back to the late 19 century. This Yellow Label bottling of Four Roses was released for the European and Japanese markets and is made up of whiskeys aged between 5 and 6 years of age.
Sweet, creamy aromas. Hints of Seville orange marmalade and lemon zest. A hint of corn sweetness and caramel.
Balanced, rich palate entry with marmalade and acacia honey. Cinnamon, lemon and oak.
Oaky, spiced finish.
I am pretty new to theworld of whisky and bourbon but i have been steadily expanding my palate outside the general pub fair, however i have quickly found i enjoy a speyside whisky and something more spiced and warming in a bourbon or an irish. FOUR ROSES fell so short there was nothing about it for me and even at its price point there are far more interesting options
Enjoyed Four Roses one of the better bourbon’s I’ve tasted in a long while
Drank it in the sixties it was awesome and cheap to buy.
This actually turned out to be a disappointment for me, I am slightly further down the road for both taste and smell and while Four Roses has often be praised to me, I might have picked the wrong one for me. The Small Batch version might have been a wiser choice. On the nose, it smells really and sweet, small traces of cinnamon, caramel and something kind of fruity, not sure sure which one. The taste was really the biggest disappointment for me, aside the alcohol, everything else is very watery, washed out spice taste, washed out wood, washed out sweetness. I would give this more attempts but on my first couple of times, it was fairly consistant. On positive news, it's great for mixing. You can toss one in pretty much anything and it will come out all fine as it lacks any kind of strong flavor. Overall, my apologies if this is your best drink ever, but for me, I really feel that I made a mistake by getting a bottle of it.
Amazing any one likes bourbon try this and buy every bottle you can as it is so difficult to find you will not be disappointed
