Douglas Laing turned 75 in 2023 and firstly, huge congrats on that. Secondly, hooray for that, because that means the bottler is releasing all kinds of super limited-editions to mark the occasion. King of Scots 50 Years Old is one of those jewels in a considerable crown, an old and rare blend that honours three generations of the family-owned company and the brand that started it all Fred Douglas Laing back in 1948.
On the nose detect juicy apricots, orchard fruits, and a rich, cereal sweetness.
The palate reveals custard cream, honeyed malt, and dried fruit style.
The finish lingers on and on with charred oak, vanilla pods, and toffee apples.
