This small batch bourbon is named after Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, an incredibly important figure in bourbon's history from the 1800s who owned a whole host of distilleries and innovated production methods which are still used today. It's only right that the Colonel EH Taylor Small Batch lives up to his name by being absolutely amazing.
Caramel apples, fresh corn and cloves. Butterscotch sneaks in after a while.
More corn sweetness, mixed with slight spiciness of rye and cinnamon.
Medium and very rich with creamy vanilla.
A really great small batch bourbon.

Buffalo Trace products seem to reign. I have had the barrel, single and small batch all excellent. The Small Batch is a very small step behind the SB. It may be just a tad bit lighter. I have an open bottle that I need to revisit. Very pleasurable bourbon from beginning to end.
I picked up a bottle in Decatur,Ga just outside of Atlanta. Paid 80 bucks. The first sip is light to the palate with a hint of spice at the end. Great cold weather bourbon. Enjoy this with no more than 2 ice cubes or a splash of purified water.
For the $41 I paid its worth it. Not chewy nor thin it's medium bodied and smooth for the above 80 proof that it is. Complex enough for me and very drinkable strait. Buffalo Trace bourbon is the best bourbon for the money for me hands down and this doesn't come close to changing that but for me this is a change up bourbon that I will continue to purchase .
Different strokes, I guess. I'm an Islay guy. I love my Laphroaigs and Ardbegs as peaty and medicinal as possible. Picked up a bottle of this so I could give bourbon a try. It's cheap where I am, probably $40. It's ... OK. I'll keep it on hand, but it's too mild for a peat freak like me. I offer that up not as a criticism of this bourbon, just as a caution for other Islay people who like more aggressive flavors.
