An excellent brand owned by Buffalo Trace that uses similar methods and recipes to the ones Colonel E. H. Taylor introduced and improved during his time as a bourbon distiller in the late 1800s. The Single Barrel release is made with specially selected barrel exclusively aged in Warehouse C, which Taylor built himself in 1881! What a guy.
Some pretty spicy notes, rich with oak. It's cooled down with fruity figs and plums.
Sweet and buttery, with a surprising hint of orange peel. Some tobacco smokiness follows.
Very long indeed, the tobacco notes in full effect.
That Colonel E.H. Taylor sure knew what he was doing, and the distillers of this single barrel bourbon definitely do too. Simply fantastic.

Arguably the best bourbon I've ever had. Pure smoothness
It's very nice, but not quite as smooth as Pappy 12, which for me is the benchmark. However I did find it nicer than Pappy 10 and 15, so at this price is a very good choice as Pappy tends to be very overpriced.
It's God bourbon whiskey
Quality of spirit and taste is just as good or better than Old Rip Van Winkle 12 yr. However, the real area where this shines above Pappy/Van Winkle is this: - more readily available - properly priced Old Rip Van Winkle 12yr is a delicious bourbon, but it ain't worth the absurd prices being asked.
Very smooth, love the flavor!
