Although actually closer to 4 years in age, the brief few years this whisky has spent maturing in quality bourbon casks belies an amazing depth of flavour and remarkable complexity. The tasting notes above are spot on but I also detect a little poached pear and lemon curd citrus sweetness alongside the tropical fruit and oaky notes. I'd hazard a guess it's 100% barley with the long fermentation times lending a flavour profile akin to the recent awesome Loch Lomond Distillery Editions.
