Bristol's Circumstance distillery fired up its stills back in 2018, and this English single grain was produced just a year later. Matured in a bourbon barrel for three years between 2019 and 2023, here is an exciting opportunity to experience what's on offer from the young Brizzle distillery, and a sure sign of good things to come. Sweet, tropical fruits and vibrant barley are backed by buttery oak and vanilla.
Notes of soft stone fruits, sweet apples, and a touch of banana join vanilla cream and mellow oak char.
Softly sweet tickles of warming spice join for the finish, with lingering notes of juicy barley and butterscotch.

Although actually closer to 4 years in age, the brief few years this whisky has spent maturing in quality bourbon casks belies an amazing depth of flavour and remarkable complexity. The tasting notes above are spot on but I also detect a little poached pear and lemon curd citrus sweetness alongside the tropical fruit and oaky notes. I'd hazard a guess it's 100% barley with the long fermentation times lending a flavour profile akin to the recent awesome Loch Lomond Distillery Editions.
