Has there ever been a moment when you've been sipping Bulleit Bourbon and wanted it to have even more rye? Well you're in luck, they now have their own Rye whiskey! Bulleit Rye is made with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley and is produced in small batches. An absolutely stunning rye that won a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2013.
Big heaps of cherries and vanilla, with subtle notes of leather and tobacco.
Rather hot at first, the spices coming to the forefront. This is followed by peaches, more cherries and a little bit of orange zest.
A smoky finish, carried by cinnamon, allspice and a hint of sweeties.
The Bulleit distillery sure know their way around a rye whiskey.

Im drinking My first dram of Bulleit Rye, I like it...it tastes like what a good whiskey should, not brutal going down, and I like the tastes of tobacco, leather, and vanilla. Whiskey is definitely not for the meek, but BR is a real change of pace from the Bourbons that Ive had in the past, I'll definitely keep a bottle on My shelf.
Wonderfully smooth but packs a deep punch and afterglow
This is very nice. It is gutsy without being harsh. Full of flavour neat,or with one ice cube in 50mls. Delightful.
Generally prefer an Islay single malt, but was pleasantly surprised to find a bourbon I didn't think tasted like a combination of shit and auto transmission fluid. Can't claim to be as refined in palate as other reviews, but I genuinely enjoy this. Very smooth, finish is clean comparative to what I usually go for, and doesn't fuck about. Far sweeter than I'd normally go for but the sweetness doesn't seem to be trying to hide something else, which is what I tend to find with most common brands in Aus.
A nice highland single malt scotch neat is my go to liquor and I picked up a bottle of the Bulleit Rye out of curiosity. It really surprised me the full and varied flavors running around on my pallet. Hints of honey, cherry, vanilla and tobacco with a touch of leather all lingeringly mingled on my tastebuds with a crisp warm finish. Especially considering I can buy three or four bottles of this for the same money as some of my single malts, I'll keep it around in my bar on a very regular basis.
