    Bulleit Bourbon

Enjoy Bulleit Bourbon like the Americans do! Previously it has been bottled at 40% ABV for the UK market, but now you can get the Frontier Whiskey at 45% ABV, just like they have in Kentucky. A stunning whiskey that won a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012.

Give this a go in a smashing Mint Julep cocktail following the recipe below!

    60ml Bulleit Bourbon

20ml Simple syrup (1 part sugar to 1 part water)

8-10 mint leaves, and three mint sprigs.

Pack a julep cup with crushed ice so it can start getting nice and cold. In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon, syrup, and mint leaves. Use a muddler to lightly bruise the leaves in the glass to release their flavour, then strain the contents into your julep cup. Garnish with three nice big sprigs of mint, (give them a little pat first, to release their minty aromas!) – then stick a straw in close by.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Bright with orange zest, toasted oak and vanilla.

    Palate

Further orange notes, followed by some warming winter spices and a hint of tobacco leaf.

    Finish

    Smooth and spicy.

    Overall

A new style of Bulleit (at least for us), but it's still as brilliant as ever!

    It's my go-to for a highball

I call it pleasant- unoffensive if you will. I can and have enjoyed it over rocks just fine, thought I have much better offerings for that style. For me, I love this as a highball base. 50/50 with seltzer, ginger beer, or cola and it's a nice refreshing drink. My 3.5 star rating is actually a big compliment, and it could garner more weighting just for the price point alone. It rivals Old Forester and comes close to Four Roses yellow label for value and mix-ability. But for an extra $30 you can have a truly beautiful Bourbon to enjoy properly and life is short.

    Value to the ounce.

Complex, savory and too good to sip fast or down the middle. Roll every sip over the whole tongue.

    Good for what it costs

Good bourbon for the price. And for the idiot criticizing the "tough guy" name, it's the distiller's last name.

    Knob Creek

The Knob Creek was all sold out at my local store and this was in it's place on the shelf. Not a bad substitute...pretty smooth. Oak and citrus and it was on sale so picked it over the Maker's Mark.

    ?

Hints of citrus, wood, vanilla, pepper. Nice. Slightly toasty, Good potential for blending.
