14 year old single cask from the Auchroisk Distillery, independently bottled by the fine folks at North Star Spirits. Distilled in 2006, this spent its time in a refill hogshead, before finishing in an ex-Oloroso cask, and was bottled in 2021. A great example of the sweet and herbal style of whisky produced at Auchroisk. There was an outturn of 264 bottles from this cask.
Gently floral, with wafts of treacle toffee and mixed nuts.
Pleasantly sweet and soft with floral citrusy notes, progressing to a herbaceous, grassy profile.
Mouth coating, gently sweet cereal, lemon peels and hints of licorice.

Flowers, damp wood and raisons, sweet spicy and quite hot at full strength, 1 teaspoon water and 5 minutes opens it up. More toffee and spice but softer now. Licorice barely makes it past the spice but makes an appearance near the finish. Long spice finish on the entire palate.
