A red vermouth from independent producer Dolin, based in Chambéry, the only region in France to have received an appellation d'origine contrôlée (controlled designation of origin) for its vermouths.
Dolin vermouths are made with an above average proportion of wine, in which a secret recipe of locally grown herbs and plants are macerated before being sweetened with real sugar. All of this is in contrast to many big name vermouths, making this stuff pretty awesome.

I like a negroni as much as this next gal and this makes a gentler negroni. However, my favourite way to drink this - so far - has been on the rocks, in my garden, under a warm evening sun.
This is my favourite red vermouth. It has a bright and fruity profile that I think combines really well with other ingredients in a variety of cocktails - Negroni, Manhattan, Boulevardier, Vieux Carré etc. For me, it combines particularly well with Campari Bitters since it’s sweetness complements the bitterness of Campari where other red vermouths might add to the bitterness resulting in a drink that is too bitter overall. A great all round red vermouth!
