A classically dry vermouth from the Carpano range, made by the same producers behind the wonderful Antica Formula. Featuring a selection of ingredients, including Dittany of Crete, this vermouth has a well-structured flavour profile with plenty of spice, refreshing herbs, citrus and orchard fruit.
I tried this vermouth because I like Carpano’s Punt E Mes and hoped their Carpano Dry would be as interesting. And it is. I much prefer it to the familiar white vermouths sold by supermarkets. It is my aperitif of choice with ice. I haven’t tried mixing it in a cocktail, l think it’s subtle flavours would be overwhelmed by gin but I’m willing to be proved wrong.
