Produced at Casa Herradura, this reposado Tequila is made from 100% agave, traditionally roasted in clay ovens for 26 hours before a three-day fermentation with wild yeast that originates from the fruit trees on the estate. The Tequila is double-distilled before undergoing an 11-month stay in charred American white oak casks, bringing buttery notes of toffee and mellow spice to the rich roasted agave at its core.
Sweet notes of buttery toffee and ginger biscuit. Dill and sage too.
Slightly tangy palate, hints of dry oak, sandalwood and roasted agave. Increasing spice notes and beeswax.
White pepper and linseed oil.
$35.29 - $125.88
Super smooth neat with some oak coming through, not so much that it overshadows the agave. I was convinced I hated tequila until I tried this stuff.
My introduction to Sipping Tequila many years ago... Drank 1/3 of a bottle over several hours. No hangover and fell in love with it.
Wanted a change from my more regular Bourbon/rye whiskey drinking, so tried some tequila, this stuff is so smooth I thought it was non-alcoholic! No need for ice, definitely no mixing, just pour and enjoy.
A very smooth and rich tasting Tequila; worth the extra money for that at special treat.
First served to me in one of the best hotels in Mexico. Then Waitrose opened nearby with it on offer and I bought them out of it. I know and love my my Tequilas and enjoy both the young and the aged for very different reasons. This is very smooth and full of character. An exquisite drink and a favourite of mine. I always have a bottle in the bar for myself, aficionados, and occasionally to blow away anyone who think that Cuevo Gold is good tequila. :o)
