Harveys Bristol Cream is a classic aperitif sherry, best serves very cold. Offers nutty, raisin notes.
I can't figure out why this stuff is called Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry and costs $18.51 when it isn't in the original Bristol Cream bottle which costs about $40. From the reviews, it's not the same stuff. It's Solera Sherry a name that does not appear on the original Bristol cream bottle. Harvey's are not doing themselves any good by trying to sell an inferior product associated with the name of a really wonderful one!
Really sad that Harvey's Bristol Cream is no longer recognizable as the rich, smooth nectar that has sustained our family lunchtime gatherings for generations. Just like any old amontillado now. Such a shame. What are they playing at? International markets, perhaps? But Harvey's Bristol Cream was always such a quintessentially English thing!
I thought this solara was an alternative to HBC and NOT supposed to be the same sherry. It does not taste the same to me. Something is different. Please change it back.
What has happened to the lovely smooth sherry we have bought every Christmas.? We couldn't drink this new one. I even tried the new sherry against some of the original and it was so different we are So disappointed.
Up till this Christmas Harvey's bristol cream was Christmas to me the wonderful velvet taste but this new solero stuff tastes nothing like the Harvey's I loved the velvet taste has gone and replaced with a strange after taste which I hate, what have they done to a wonderful and best sherry in the world, christmas will never be the same again bring back my beloved harveys with the cork top, why change something that was perfect.
