Jack Iron is a light-coloured, overproof rum from the Westerhall Estate in St David's, Grenada. It is made to a secret recipe and is intended as a mixing rum.
Nose: Hints of soft spices, vanilla. A little wood and caramel.
Palate: Sweet, very spicy palate. Very warming with a rich vanilla core, hints of tropical fruit and allspice.
Finish: Caramel and spice on the finish.

I first encountered this on a RUM RHUMMER trip from St.Georges in Grenada during a cruise visit to the island. The drink was served with orange as the trip progressed the orange reduced and the Jack Iron level increased.Brilliant drink and seriously addictive. As non rum drinker I high level of praise. A must buy and try.

I brought back a 250ml bottle of this rum from Granada, just to to taste. I Should have bought a larger bottle. It is very smooth, especially considering the 70% alcohol content. (Didn't even notice THAT until the bottle was gone)! Good choice for Rummies!

This jack is a substitute for the real carriacou jack however it taste good but the price need to be seriously reconcidered

Carriacou Jack now costs about £2-50 a bottle but this is a totally different animal to Westerhall JackIron and should not really be compared. Carriacou Jack is basically bootleg from Trinidad and is an absolutely fantastic rum, Westerhall Jack is commercially produced rum and is also absolutely fantastic rum but all the costs of tax and importation add to the price but still well worth it, i'll be ordering some.

£29.00 seems like a good price based on your £6 local cost. Because about £15.00 goes to the govt in import duties and another £4.00 in VAT leaving about £4 to share between retailer and UK cost etc (£6 - product; £21-HM Govt & £4-retailer). Thanks for that, I think it is value for money then. I would get me a few bottles. Good lad!

Crazy price for the Grenadian weaker 'airport jack' as its known in Carriacou. It used to cost $50 EC (about £6) for a gallon a few years back. Describing its nose and finish is like comparing brandy to Meths! Strong rum but vastly overpriced by Westerhall.
