A magnificent sipping rum from Dominican producer Barceló, released as part of the Rare Blends Collection. Produced from Dominican sugar cane grown in Barceló's own fields, the rum is aged in a variety of American white oak barrels with varying degrees of toast before it's blended and finished in maple wood casks for a rich, sweet profile, layered with vanilla, stone fruits, and gentle woody spice. One to enjoy in a Maple Rum Old Fashioned, we reckon.
