The Pusser's Rum collection has had a bit of a revamp. While their Blue Label is still made with the exact same blend of rums - a recipe from the Admiralty - it is now bottled at 40% abv rather that 54.5% abv. The reasoning behind this, is it allows Pusser's to be distributed to Naval bases, where the maximum allowed strength is 40%.
If you're looking for the original 54.5% version, then fear not! It has now been rebranded as Pusser's 'Gunpowder Proof' Black Label.
Peanut brittle, chocolate raisins, old oak and good sherry.
Banana, ground clove, ginger root and crunchy brown sugar. A touch of baklava, too.
Caramel and cinnamon warmth.

Smooth as silk and just like I remember it before we lost the tot in the RN.
I have a bottle of Pussers survival pack, fishing line, waterproof matches ,drinking mug and aspirins , my grandson who's in the RN, brought it back for me when his ship was in the Caribbean 4-5 years ago , still unopened looks too good to drink
Smell: a bit spicy. A little sweet, but not that much. Smells alcoholic. Neat: strong taste, more like a whiskey! With coke: doesn’t have a very nice taste. Poured away!
I tried this out when my local, small town store was out of Zacapa. I'd seen this in various Caribbean ports, and thought I should give it a try. I like it better than Appleton Estate rums, Meyer Dark, and several other labels. I prefer to sip rum neat. This didn't disappoint. Good little price, and a nice go-to rum.
not y cup of tea but others like it alot
