One of the initial releases from That Boutique-y Rum Company, featuring a 13 year old Guyanese rum from the Diamond distillery - produced in the wooden Versailles still (which was previously located at the Enmore distillery). A wooden still might not sound like the most practical, considering... Well, y'know, considering how stills work. However, this rum is proof that this wooden still makes a damn fine rum, and is particularly more useful than the various items on its label, like a glass hammer, a chocolate teapot and a helicopter with an ejector seat...
Batch 1 is a release of 439 bottles.
Red cherries and dates, coconut, ripe banana and honeydew melon. Then there’s buttered toast, apricot yogurt and a hint of coffee - basically it’s super fruity!
The banana comes to the fore along with a wash of pineapple and a hint of red chilli. Molasses and brown sugar bring even more earthy sweetness, and there’s a bitter dark chocolate and cinnamon spice underpinning it all.
Medium length and gently spiced.
A robust pot still rum with a huge personality, just bursting with tropical fruit.

Absolutely amazing rum. Tasting notes are spot on, as usual.
