Offers golden syrup and black treacle. Some cocoa, spices. Bourbon smoke, char, vanilla.
Dark chocolate, burnt sugar. Tiramisu. Creamy.
Crème brûlée and custard, a little cocoa and coffee, a hint of tar.

This is my favourite rum and represents superb value for the price. Perhaps not the long finish of some more expensive varieties but it's perfectly balanced and wonderful sipped neat
In Trinidad this is known as Single Barrel, and is the least of Angostura's three most popular rums, but a fine rum for the price. "1787" and "1919" are better sipping rums, but "7" mixes well and makes a great Cuba Libre or Rum and Coke.
Having married a Trinidadian and visiting the island since 2005, I’ve tried a few of the Angosturas. For me this (despite not being the most expensive) is the best. It’s aroma is something special. Having a sweet tooth, it’s ideal. I’m glad to have found it here, especially during this pandemic as now I haven’t got to wait till I go there to taste it again. The Mrs can also carry on using it to make “black cake” without me worrying about it running out.
Smooth, light very enjoyable rum
For the price, you will not get a better "real" Rum than this. By "real" I mean an authentic Rum not loaded with sugar or other flavourings. This is full of delicious flavours and lovely to sip neat. Absolutely delicious.
