
A marvellous expression from Mezcal Vago, this Ancestral mezcal was produced by mezcalero Tío Rey using a combination of Espadín, Coyote, and Mexicano agave, roasted in earthen ovens for several days, before being hand-ground with wooden mallets. The grinding is a family affair with everyone from the children to the grandparents grabbing a mallet and getting stuck in! Distilled in small clay pots, this traditional method takes a great deal of expertise, which shines through in this supremely complex sipper.
Vegetal herbs with earthen spice, juicy agave, robust, roasted notes with a touch of honeyed parsnip and oily menthol beneath.
