This is a pichumel maguey, (or Agave marmorata) based blanco mezcal from the Mezcale de Leyendas, distilled by third generation mezcalero, José Ortega, in Puebla, Mexico. The folks behind Mezcal de Leyendas do great work to promote smaller spirit producers, with a lot of care and attention to environmental responsibility and social sustainability, which is awesome.

On the nose is smells of vinegar and pepper. To taste, it is very earthy and peppery which lingers for a long time.
