This is Horno from Mezcal Amarás Logia was traditionally crafted from the prized Horno variety of agave (A. Americana), grown for 8 - 10 years before it was harvested from the Albarradas region of Oaxaca. It was hand-milled with a wooden mallet and cooked in a conical earth oven with oak before it was naturally fermented in an open 1,200-litre pine vat and then distilled in a clay pot still.
The black ceramic bottle is the Amarás founder's way of redefining the way super-premium mezcal is presented. The C2 on the bottle refers to a categorization system Amarás uses, with "C" meaning it's an ancestral mezcal and the "2" indicating the relative sugar content at full maturity.
Stone fruit, honey, bell pepper, candy floss, smoke, cinnamon, and subtle herbal notes.
