A special edition bottling of Del Maguey single village Mezcal, distilled in San Luis Del Rio in Oaxaca. What makes this edition special (hence it being special edition) is that it was aged in 20 year old Stitzel Weller Wheated Bourbon Barrels for 2,976 hours, which is 124 days. A rather interesting piece, we're sure you'll agree, as you don't see aged Mezcal all that often. 1530 bottles were produced.
Well-roasted agave, with notes of red and green pepper arriving alongside. Whiffs of smoky bacon and citrus blossom.
The oak-y elements from the cask really come through on the palate, with touches of white pepper and creamy caramel. Still smoky, still slightly vegetal.
Smoked meats and sharp apple. Hints of floral vanilla.
