Part of the range of single village mezcals from Del Maguay, this particular spirit was made in the village of San Balthazar Chichicapa. It was made using Espadín agave, and is full of big smoky vegetal flavours. It'll suit fans of peaty Islay whisky, this one.
Complex, with hefty notes of citrus, classic roasted agave notes, a sprinkle of salt and a big smokiness developing alongside a hint of refreshing mint chocolate.

As the other reviewer alluded to, I took one sip of this and said 'It's Ardbeg 10 (in mezcal form)'. You can taste the agave - it's mezcal after all - but as much as a mezcal can taste like Ardbeg or Laphroaig, it does; if you like either of these two whiskies and want a mezcal you'd enjoy, get this.
If you like peated Islay whisky you will love this. Nice mouth feel as 48 abv and a long finish.
