Highland Wineries
Mead, one of the oldest alcoholic drinks in history, has seen quite the resurgence recently (find out more about that over on our blog)! Moniack Mead is a traditional honey mead, produced at Moniack Castle by Highland Wineries, through the process of fermenting honey. A fun mead fact: traditionally, after a wedding the bride and groom were given enough mead to last then one month, which is where the term ‘honeymoon’ came from!
Smooth and warming with a certain dryness, prominent honey and caramel flavours without being overly sweet, along with light floral notes.

It tastes fantastic. It's so addictive that I keep thinking about it.
The best mead ever.
If I could only ever have one bottle of booze at my house, this would be it.
I sampled this mead 21 years ago while getting married and enjoying a honeymoon in Guthrie Scotland and Castle Stuart....STILL my favorite, and. none have come close...BUT I am down to my last 2 bottles...and do not know WHERE I can order more....My former connection in the UK is ....gone....
