A big birthday calls for a special bottle. Distilled the same year Master of Malt was established, this Girvan spent the next 40 years slumbering soundly in a refill sherry butt. A distinguished dram, packed with chewy toffee, candied nuts, and rich old oak in a medley we think is the perfect way to celebrate! A release of 473 bottles, without added colour or chill filtration.

"Specially bottled to celebrate 40 years of Master of Malt", this magnificent 20-year-old single cask GlenAllachie is an exclusive you won't find anywhere else! Distilled in August 2005, the whisky spent two decades maturing in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, yielding 353 bottles in September 2025. It's a rich, characterful dram, packed with generous waves of baking spices and orchard fruits, with rich notes of muscovado and mocha beneath.

This one's older than Master of Malt! Aged for a whopping 50 years, this single grain makes a fine addition to both our Masterpiece series, and our 40th Anniversary bottlings! Distilled in 1974, it saw both refill hogshead and bourbon barrel maturations. A release of 296 bottles.

Mmmmmmm! A Master of Malt meaty Mortlach! Distilled in 2013, this single malt spent a dozen years maturing in a refill hogshead before being bottled in 2025. Magnificent, robust old school worm tub condensed malts for the win. A release of 300 bottles.

Distilled in 2015, this single malt matured for the next decade in a single refill hogshead. We love a good Dailuaine, and we've been keeping a close eye on this one, waiting for the right moment to bottle it up for our own Master of Malt collection. Now is that time! A release of 298 bottles.
Mauritian Rum

A rum! Yes, jump aboard the Master of Malt cruise ship and set sail for Mauritius. Distilled at Labourdonnais in 2010, this gem was initially matured in a refill barrel, then transferred to teeny little PX sherry octaves to finish. A release of 326 bottles.

The 1980s were a good decade. Great things happened, like Master of Malt becoming a thing! Also squeezed in (in 1989) was the distillation of this splendid single grain Scotch from Edinburgh's North British distillery. Matured for 35 years in a single refill hogshead. A release of 185 bottles.

Gin? Good. Cask aged spirits? Goood. Cask aged gin? Clearly not enough of it about. This gin was distilled in 2017 and matured in teeny little oloroso sherry octaves until 2025. Concentrated layers of oily, piney juniper, citrus, sultanas, chocolate, and wood spice anyone? A release of 165 bottles.
Decades of memories
Master of Malt began as an independent bottler, fulfilling orders for single malts from the world’s best distilleries via mail order. It's something we still do, to award-winning effect. (Apart from the mail order bit, of course.)
By the late 1990s, the interwebs were changing all of our lives, and the same can be said of Master of Malt. Our first website launched in 1999 and we've never looked back.
Run variously from a dining room table, a tin shed on a farm, an old printworks, and on to 'proper facilities', Master of Malt's always been built to be a company that we would want to shop with ourselves. Exceptional service. Best-in-class range. Super fast delivery. Fair prices. Real people. We've had bags of fun, made plenty of mistakes, and learned an awful lot over the years! We've also made lifelong friends, and some of us even met our partners and spouses along the way too.
