Agave in all its glory

Madre Tequila

The masters at Madre know their way around agave, and let its character shine in this new Tequila.

From mezcal to Tequila, Madre does things the traditional way.

The masters at Madre aim to showcase the pure, natural flavour of agave to the full, and now a brand new Tequila joins the range! Drawing on lessons learned from making Madre Mezcal, this additive-free Tequila harks back to the traditional spirit once called ‘Vino de Mezcal de Tequila’.

The agaves used are harvested from a single estate in some of the highest elevations of Jalisco, where rough conditions result in greater sweetness and complexity. They're only harvested when they begin to show a reddish colour in their leaves, known as ‘enrocimiento’, signalling they've reached peak ripeness. The agave is roasted in clay brick ovens, distilled with mineral-rich well water, and bottled without any additives such as glycerine, colouring, or sweeteners at a generous 48% ABV. It's a fine Tequila to savour and sip slowly, and ought to shine in an array of cocktails.

Madre Tequila Blanco

Showcasing a mineralic profile, layered with citrus and sweet agave, this 100% agave Tequila is traditionally produced without additives, with the aim of emphasising the agave's natural flavours. Madre's agave is harvested from a single estate in the Jalisco highlands, where high altitude and rough conditions contribute to a sweeter, more complex flavour profile. The agave is roasted in clay brick ovens and distilled using mineral-rich well water, and the Tequila is bottled at a generous 48% ABV.

Serve neat or over ice, with orange or citrus.

Madre Mezcal

Madre Mezcal is produced by the Morales family in Oaxaca, using a cracking combination of Espadín and Cuishe agave, cooked over hot stone in earthen pits and crushed with a stone tahona wheel. A mineral-forward expression, with wafts of smoke and fresh herbs running through it.

Madre Mezcal Espadín

This single-variety mezcal is all about the Espadín, one of the most popular agave varieties for mezcal production. Expect familiar smoky, earthy notes, with a touch of vegetal sweetness sneaking through later on. Well-suited to sipping neat, but will surely make for some excellent cocktails too.
