Pernod Ricard
Ricard Pastis is a French anise-flavoured liqueur that is often enjoyed as an aperitif. It's made with a blend of herbs and spices, including anise, liquorice, and fennel making it perfect to get the juices flowing before a meal. Traditionally served diluted with water and ice, turning the drink milky and opaque.
This Pastis is lovely. I love it neat on the rocks. It has the added benefit of helping digestion which I learned from a French barman! It stops acid reflux and in my opinion it should be available on prescription. I recommend Master of Malt. Ordering is simple and delivery is very swift.
Have been buying pastis from this site for a few years (as others have said you can't seem to find it in any supermarkets) Ricard is the best one in my opinion.
What a lovely drink for a balmy summer evening - or any other time! Dilute it. It tastes fantastic at 5 water to 1 but throat grabbing at 2 to 1.
The drink of life for me, the sweet flavour of anise and licorice never gets old. I love it as aperitif, but since anise and licorice are traditionally great for digestion, I drink it also after a meal. The best way to enjoy Ricard is slow sipping on a drowsy, sunny afternoon, of course.
The only "all round" entertainment with no digestive consequences. Without equal- always a reliable bet. Why is Pernod Marseille such a long way away! There is an untouched market in the UK. Help- I am not a drowning man!!!
