A French star anise and wormwood flavoured liqueur from Distilleries et Domaines de Provence, first produced in 1990. However, it's not just anise and wormwood you'll find in Pastis Henri Bardouin, oh no. It's a blend of 65 different herbs and spices, many of which are secret. Such mystery, so many ingredients, much intrigue. Enjoy this as an aperitif with plenty of water.
Richly herbal, with excited notes of star anise sitting beneath simmering spiced notes of cardamom and pepper.
Decidedly green (and not just from the historical connection between Pastis liqueurs and Absinthe) with fresh, roughly chopped herbs, warming spices and, of course, the distinctive notes of wormwood.
Lasting spicy notes.
Quite complex, as you would expect from a liqueur with such an expansive recipe, but it's well balanced and enjoyable.

Very tasty in a Sazerac cocktail! It has a beautiful liquorice/aniseed aroma and a great deal of complexity. I can't say that I can pick out the wormwood notes but I do get liquorice, aniseed and mint on the palate. Very nice stuff.
