Alternative Gentiane

A great lover of Suze and currently drinking a rather nice First Post using the last of my bottle - along with two 0.25 ml of Suze and Amer to taste. The Suze is like a really good Seville Marmalade - really quite sweet with deep bitterness coming through. This Amer though is more like a very good Lime Marmalade - still has the sweet but not as cloying and bags of bitter, also you can tell its got 50 % more ABV. Drinking on its own the Amer is a clear and smoother winner - as a mixer the Amer might need a dash of sweet but overall the Amer is the winner

The best gentian bitter around

If you like Suze or Campari, you will love this. The closest thing to Salers Green cap currently available in the UK, as far as I know. Pure gentian bitter delight with a lighter body than most bittersweet liqueurs, a relief from the cloying candied orange flavours that often accompany. Essentially a superior (and accordingly, more expensive) version of Suze. If you want a blond negroni that will impress, this is the stuff.
