Tia Maria is a coffee liqueur that originated in Jamaica. It is named after the Spanish for "aunt", tía, and maría, meaning "bitter" or "gallant". The recipe for Tia Maria was created by Dr. Jager in 1938.
It is made with Blue Mountain coffee beans, Jamaican rum, sugar, vanilla, and spices.
Tia Maria can be enjoyed on its own or mixed with coffee, milk, or soda water. It is also used in a number of cocktails, such as the Tia Martini and the Tiajuana Mule.
I and many of my friends do not like the 20%ADV of the Tai Maria which is sold now. We will no longer purchase it.
Never again. The only drink we would never buy again. Really, it's that bad
I have enjoyed Tia Maria for in excess of 45 years on a regular basis particularly with coffee
served cold with milk absolutey devine .
