The classic Clementi China liqueur. When we say "classic", we mean it - this is made with the same recipe which was created back in 1884! It features the flavours of Cinchona Calisaya, Cinchona succirubra and bitter orange peels.
Brown sugar, bitter oak, iris petals and dark chocolate.
Bitter rich earthy. Like a more alcoholic, deeper richer, more bitter sweet vermouth. I believe it cures many ailments. Excellent mixer with vodka or gin in martini variants. Or throw a dash into G & T for nice colour and doubling down on quinine.
Unusual among bitter aperitifs/amaros for a pronounced earthiness; you can practically pick the cinchona bark out of your teeth. On the bitter side of bittersweet without going full fernet. The producer's recommendation of serving with grapefruit juice sounded terrible to me, but I tried it anyway, and they were right: absolutely perfect. I am a huge amaro fan and this is a real standout.
