While the original Whitley Neill Gin is inspired by the exotic flavours of Africa, their Rhubarb & Ginger Gin variation takes inspiration from closer to the Whitley family's homestead.
Enjoyably fruity on the nose, with rhubarb preserve and baked apple. Hints of leafy herbs grow in the background.
Orange, ginger and coriander arrive on the palate, though it's still dominated by rhubarb. A core of earthy juniper builds.
A tangy touch of tartness appears later on, balanced by black pepper and gingerbread.

I love gin, especially rhubarb and ginger but this was hideous, I couldn’t detect the taste of rhubarb at all, very disappointed
This is the most wonderful gin I have ever tasted. Made nicer with Fevertree light tonic, slice of lemon and a slither of fresh ginger, oh and ice of course
Any gin that sponsors a horse race at Brighton, can't be all bad. I live in the States, where we seem to be flavoring everything with 'fusion' flavors. I like gin (a lot), so we'll see.
Absolutely foul. Obviously the Marmite of gins. Sickly sweet without tasting of rhubarb or ginger. Have tried it with tonic and ginger ale. Have given it to friends who also agree. This is really unfortunate as I cannot even give it away. So DISAPPOINTED!
Try it with elderflower tonic and berries ... delicious
