While the original Whitley Neill Gin is inspired by the exotic flavours of Africa, their Rhubarb & Ginger Gin variation takes inspiration from closer to the Whitley family's homestead.
Enjoyably fruity on the nose, with rhubarb preserve and baked apple. Hints of leafy herbs grow in the background.
Orange, ginger and coriander arrive on the palate, though it's still dominated by rhubarb. A core of earthy juniper builds.
A tangy touch of tartness appears later on, balanced by black pepper and gingerbread.

A bit too sweet for me but I do like it. One of my favourite fruit gins
Tried this as it came to see whether we could taste the rhubarb and/or the ginger. The flavours are subtle, the rhubarb does not overpower whilst the ginger has a nice warming effect on the back of the throat. Moved on to a G&T. How to make what I consider to be a safe drink more interesting. It was very refreshing and warming at the same time. Shall be willing to try G&Ts more often.
Love rhubarb, love ginger, love gin... what could go wrong? The coriander, that's what - tastes foul to me sadly, being one of those with the coriander=soap tasting gene!
I think it is the best rhubarb & ginger gin that I've had It's a Very lovely gin to drink
Horrible, tastes like cough medicine, would never buy this again - threw it down the sink
