Southwestern Distillery's excellent Tarquin's Gin bottled at 57% abv! Orris root, green cardamom seeds, cinnamon and violets are all used and the gin is distilled in Tamara, their copper pot still named after the goddess of the Tamar.
Spicy juniper and cardamom with sweet, fragrant citrus and pine, sweet almond.
Fragrant and fresh, rounded notes from the nose, black pepper warmth.
Big, spicy and drying.
A fantastic gin for all you salty seadogs and land lubbers alike! Excellent in cocktails.

Just tasted this last evening. It was perfect. Tried it with lime, then with cucumber, both set a significant taste to the gin and should be used with care. A dip of what you like (lime or cucumber) is enough. This is high quality gin, maybe the best ever.
I wanted to love it, it has a great story, it’s british and it looks great. Sadly, there are many other gins I prefer. It also turned the tonic milky - a bit like moonshine. Maybe due to the alcohol content. Not to my taste, but not a bad gin. One for the cabinet when you’re feeling brave.
Hmm, I’m a salty seadog but really don’t rate this at all. Very heavy and hangover guaranteed for me. Gin should be clean but this has a heavy taste and turns the tonic a bit milky.
Best Gin in the World SFWSC 2017 and yes, what a great gin. The botanicals and flavours that can sometimes be lost in the regular 'Blue' Tarquins are all here. The violets jump out, the orange citrus beautifully forward. Supped on ice from a 50ml taster with a can of FT light and it was beautiful and elegant with lifted power. Now selling like hot cakes in Kernow despite the 57% strength. We can't get enough of it.
