The folks producing Lubuski over in Poland decided to whack some of their gin into a casks to create this Aged Gin expression! The gin rested in a combination of oak and chestnut casks before bottling at 42% ABV, with the casks adding some sweeter caramel notes to the juniper-forward spirit. Certainly a contender for a Gin Old Fashioned, or should make an interesting twist on a Negroni.
Notes of savoury herbs intertwine with resinous, piney juniper, balanced with citrus blossom, intense cinnamon spice and dusty oak.
Silky and herbaceous, with green oak pairing wonderfully with forest-y juniper notes, and a hint of citrus curd.
A wave of caramel sweetness floods in among more baking spice on the finish.

Delicate herbals with sweetness of wood coming through taken neat
Tried this with Mediterranean tonic water and it was fantastic. Tried the tasting online with 3 others and they thought it was fantastic. Great with smoked salmon too. I will be buying a bottle.
This gin is a traditional Polish necking gin. There is no culture to it, but it does well for what it is and the price. I suggest eating chocolate before as it adds a really nice creaminess to the pallet. Don’t think it’s worthy of winning an award for best casked age though.
Got a sample of this in a gin tasting kit. I dont know who voted this best cask gin because i have never tasted something so vile. The taste genuinely offended me. Whoever this Chaps of Master of Malt is has some seriously weird taste buds because i got none of the above when this entered my mouth. I am still having nightmares about it now!
The taste of this gin is like no gin I have had before. It is harsh and to me tasted a bit like chemicals. It overpowered the mouth and left a terrible after taste.
