Wolfe Bros. Gin came to life during the Covid lockdown of 2020, a brainchild of brothers Jonathan and Alexander Neil. Already owners of several bars in Leeds, the onset of the pandemic left them facing an uncertain future. With their establishments shut but expenses accumulating, the Neils shifted their focus, venturing into the production of spirits and bottled cocktails. These products were initially hand-delivered to residents of Yorkshire confined to their homes. Three years on, their collection of gins and liqueurs has gained a commendable reputation, available online, in exclusive wine and spirit stores, and superior cocktail bars throughout the north.
Thomas Green's Coffee Liqueur
This exquisite liqueur is meticulously produced using cold-brewed coffee, chosen for its equilibrium of bitter, dark chocolate and inviting vanilla notes. With a low sugar content, the robust coffee flavour prominently shines through, whether mixed or enjoyed neat over ice. It offers a creamy stone fruit sweetness, transitions to a dry, woody spice, and concludes with a toasted cocoa bittersweet aftertaste. It's ideal for sipping with a twist of orange over ice or as a key ingredient in an Espresso Martini.
London Dry Gin
Crafted in Yorkshire's heart, this original London Dry Gin is distilled in traditional copper alembic pot stills. It presents a bold, bright profile enriched with herbs, invigorating citrus, and savoury hints from piney juniper and cedarwood. It's best enjoyed in a classic Gin & Tonic with Double Dutch Indian Tonic, complemented by a fresh grapefruit wedge.
Raspberry & Hibiscus Gin
This variant, based on the London Dry, is infused with a well-measured mix of botanicals, including Hibiscus Flowers and British Raspberries, giving it a distinct pink hue. It's fruity and full-bodied, characterised by tart berry and subtle floral tones. This gin pairs splendidly with ginger ale over ice, an orange twist, and fresh raspberries.
Pear & Fig Gin
Initially, a limited winter special, the Pear & Fig Gin, marked by pronounced fresh green notes, understated fig sweetness, and a biscuity finish, became a regular due to popular demand. It's recommended over ice with Double Dutch Cranberry & Ginger Soda, enhanced by an orange twist and a rosemary sprig.
English Rose & Angelica
This vibrant gin, with a classic pink tint, utilises both rose hips and petals. It starts with a warming spice from angelica and juniper, ending with a sweet fragrance of rosewater and jasmine. It's perfect with lemon tonic, a cucumber ribbon, ice, and a fresh mint sprig.
Orange & Bergamot Gin
Inspired by Mediterranean sun-soaked days, this citrus-forward gin offers bold, sweet citrus notes, a floral bitterness from bergamot, and a creamy juniper finish. It's best served over ice with Lemon Tonic, accompanied by an orange wedge and a dehydrated lemon wheel.
Limoncello
This zero-waste product, born from an initiative to utilise "The Heads" from the distilling process and lemon husks from their bars, has become a favourite. It delivers a perfectly balanced taste with zesty lemon, candied citrus peels, and a hint of lemon curd, ideal for sipping over ice with a lemon twist.
